Intelligrated’s Earl Wohlrab elected to Robotic Industries Association board of directors
Intelligrated®, a North American-based automated material handling solutions provider, announces that Earl Wohlrab, robotic and palletizing systems product manager, has been elected to the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) board of directors. Wohlrab began his two-year term following the board’s January meeting.
RIA announced its 2015 election results during the A3 business forum on Jan. 21 in Orlando, Florida. The association welcomed four new directors and renewed the membership of eight sitting directors across supplier, integrator, user and researcher categories that represent various robotics constituencies. The board selected Wohlrab to the integrator category for his background with robotic systems in dynamic distribution and fulfillment environments, and experience in high-growth markets for robotic applications, including food, beverage and consumer packaged goods.
“I’m happy to be working with the new and returning board members to plan the strategic direction of our association this year,” said Jeff Burnstein, president, RIA. “It’s an exciting time for the robotics industry and RIA membership is at a record number. We’re looking forward to continuing our mission of educating, promoting and advancing robotics.”
In addition to serving on the board of directors, Wohlrab will continue his involvement with the RIA certified integrator steering committee for manufacturing and distribution. Wohlrab is based in Intelligrated’s St. Louis office and leads product development that expands the application of robotic technology. He holds a master’s degree in engineering management from the University of South Florida and has 20 years of experience in the material handling industry with nearly 15 years of experience in robotics.
“Earl plays a key role in keeping Intelligrated on the forefront of continued advancements in robotic technology and its growing application in materials handling,” said Jerry Koch, director, corporate marketing and product management, Intelligrated. “It’s an honor to see Earl get the industry recognition he deserves and we’re confident his perspective and leadership will prove valuable to RIA.”
Intelligrated representatives hold leadership positions in several key trade associations, including the Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA), MHI (formerly know as the Material Handling Institute) and RIA.
