SICK releases W16 and W26 smart photoelectric sensors
SICK, manufacturer of sensors, safety systems, machine vision, encoders and automatic identification solutions for factory, logistics and process automation, announced the launch of the W16 and W26 photoelectric sensors.
The W16 and W26 were designed as smart sensors so they can be configured remotely via IO-Link for efficient set up. As smart sensors, W16 and W26 also offer additional diagnostic functions that can be used to predict maintenance and other smart tasks.
In addition, the BluePilot operating and indicator concept gives optical feedback while using a PinPoint LED during setup for faster and more precise alignment, especially over long distances. The BluePilot is also used for signal strength feedback, mode selection, and presetting sensing distances. The W16 and W26 also features LineSpot and TwinEye technologies. LineSpot provides a continuous sensor signal even in the case of perforated or textured objects. TwinEye has two receivers in one system to significantly increase detection reliability as it can detect high-gloss, contrast rich, and uneven surfaces.
