Honeywell boosts printer portfolio with new compact, industrial-grade solutions
As IT and operations leaders strive to improve their bottom line in 2015 and beyond, Honeywell announced two bar code label printers, offering an entry-level solution for reliable industrial printing at a competitive price.
Combining the reliability of an industrial-class product with the simplicity of a desktop printer, the PD43 and the compact PD43c printers are designed for use in the distribution center, transportation (including airline passenger service), retail and healthcare industries. These new printers allow workers around the world to conduct business-critical tasks such as airline ticketing, baggage tag printing, shelf label printing and pharmaceutical label printing.
“The PD43 and even-smaller PD43c pack our latest printing technology into a compact yet rugged package,” said Juan Picon, vice president and general manager, scanning, printing and media, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. “Unlike competing products that force a choice between price and performance, these new printers can scale with growing businesses at an accessible price point, helping organizations mind their bottom line without sacrificing performance.”
“VDC’s research shows that ease of use, reliability, and price-performance ratio are critical AIDC technology investment determinants,” said Richa Gupta, senior analyst, Auto-ID & Data Capture, VDC Research. “The demand for out-of-the-box ready industrial label printers is growing as IT managers are tasked with adopting solutions that enhance operational efficiencies. With its ergonomic and affordable PD43 series, Honeywell is poised to capitalize on today’s massive mid-market opportunity.”
Doing More With Less: Reliable Performance for Tough Environments
Suited for deployment in various demanding environments, the PD43 series is focused on performance, with fast print speeds of up to eight inches per second. Its rugged, all-metal enclosure and cast-aluminum print mechanism ensure maximum reliability and durability. And to simplify deployment and maintenance, each PD43 series printer includes an integrated web interface—just like the Honeywell PM series mid-range industrial printers.
Easy and Simple to Deploy, Install and Use
With the industry’s largest number of printer languages supported for light industrial-grade solutions, the PD43 series is easy to install in multiple countries across the world. Deployment is made simple with configuration tools and connectivity options, and its compact design makes it versatile and easy to install in space-constrained applications. Adding to versatility is its wide range of media support, including half-inch or one-inch ribbon cores.
Accessible Pricing for Global Markets
The PD43 series is competitively priced, making it an ideal upgrade for those who currently own legacy Intermec PD41, PD42 or PC43 printers. These new printers use the same ribbon core diameters, so customers can transition to the new PD43 series without having to worry about media compatibility.
The PD43 and PD43c is available now in the U.S., Europe, Brazil, China, India, Russia, Turkey and all the other major AIDC markets.
