Boston Gear and Bauer Gear Motor introduce Series 2000 inline helical gear drives and gear motors
Boston Gear and Bauer Gear Motor have recently announced the addition of inline models to the existing family of Series 2000 right angle helical gear drives and gear motors. Utilizing the voice-of-the-customer, the new Series 2000 inline helical gear drives and gear motors are designed with many unique performance and convenience features to meet requirements in a wide variety of applications including industrial conveyors, food processing equipment, wind energy turbines, industrial washers and dryers, wire and cable reels and progressive cavity/positive displacement pumps. The Boston Gear Series 2000 C-face gear drives feature unique mounting registers for fast and flexible installation. A front mounting face and field-installable output flange provide enhanced mounting flexibility. Models feature large output shaft diameters and are available with a torque range up to 39,000 in.lb. (4400 Nm).
Units require very low maintenance with unique rounded housing surfaces for easier cleaning, premium acrylic paint pigmented with 316 stainless steel flake for high corrosion and abrasion resistance, and integrated O-rings for high leak and ingress resistance. Other maintenance advantages include automatic entrapment of wear debris, large diameter oil fill/drain holes and synthetic lubrication.
With the premium efficiency of ground helical gearing (98% per gear mesh) and increased tooth contact area, Series 2000 inline helical reducers are ideal for use in high torque applications with continuous or high duty cycle operations, high-ratio reduction, and limited access installations where long life is a necessity. Bauer Series 2000 integral gear motors are inverter-rated for use with VFDs. Motors are CE, CSA and UR certified, meet or exceed EISA 2007 efficiency requirements with a Class 1, Div 2, Groups B/C/D/T3C rated enclosure. Units also feature high quality bearings for long life and specially designed fans and fan covers for quieter operation.
Series 2000 gear drives and gear motors are dimensional drop-in replacements for major competitive products.
