Nucor Warehouse Systems (NWS) has announced the recent completion of a 96-foot-tall AS/RS cold storage structure on the East Coast. Partnering with the customer from conception to completion, NWS designed, managed, manufactured, and built the warehouse. This job aligns NWS with its goal of increased AS/RS output, especially with a nine percent projected annual growth in warehouse automation between 2026 and 2030.
The project involved 1,256 tons of steel, including 7,700 pallet positions, and measured at 96 feet tall and 273 feet long by 74 feet wide. With access to other companies within Nucor Corporation, this project was sourced and completed all through NWS and its unparalleled access to materials and services.

“Expanding our portfolio of AS/RS projects has been our focus as increased demand for automation continues to transform the industry,” said Nucor Warehouse Systems’ Commercial Director, Daniel Aguirre. “As labor shortages remain tight and automation grows, utilizing AS/RS systems for warehouses is a good choice, and Nucor Warehouse Systems is an ideal partner for projects of this scope.”
