New GAIN™ Clean Fuel CNG location to fuel NFI’s fleet
GAIN® Clean Fuel, a brand of U.S. Gain, has partnered with NFI, a leading supply chain solutions provider, tobuild a new compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Kissimmee, Florida. The station will provide CNG to twelve trucks in NFI’s fleet serving Central Florida.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for NFI and GAIN Clean Fuel,” said Bill Renz, General Manager for U.S. Gain. “This station is strategically located in Central Florida along NFI’s carrier routes, giving them a fueling option that delivers lower costs and emissions when compared with diesel fuel.” The Kissimmee station will be located at 1901 South Poinciana Boulevard and is the 48th GAIN Clean Fuel location in operation or under construction throughout North America.
NFI, a provider of transportation, logistics, distribution, and warehouse services for regional and national companies looks forward to this new opportunity. “This partnership allows us to meet many of our company’s core values,” said Bill Bliem, Senior Vice President of Fleet Services. “We’re committed to creating continuous improvements whether it’s providing services to our clients or helping to improve the environment through the conversion to CNG. We have a social responsibility as a company and we are always looking for ways to demonstrate our corporate citizenship. Converting these twelve trucks to operate on CNG helps us accomplish that,” Bliem said.
Using CNG improves air quality because it produces less emissions than diesel fuel, traditionally used for trucks. An added benefit is the financial savings as CNG costs less, even at today’s lower diesel fuel prices.
Renz called NFI’s decision to partner with GAIN Clean Fuel a great example of a company that lives up to its mission of striving to be the best. “They have an idea of what it takes to be a great company and they are implementing strategies to achieve it,” Renz said. “GAIN Clean Fuel is excited to be a part of it and this new station is helping us to achieve our mission.”
GAIN Clean Fuel has a goal to have more than 100 new stations in the next two years. The Kissimmee site will be completed and open for operation in August 2015 and will provide easy-access, fast-fill capabilities. It will also accept fleet cards and have proven reliability to ensure that fleets have a consistent fuel source. They are open for use by other fleets and the general public.
