Great Dane returns as Gold Partner for Women In Trucking
Women In Trucking (WIT) is pleased to announce the return of Great Dane as a Gold Level partner for 2014. Brandie Fuller, Great Dane’s vice president of marketing continues to serve on the WIT board of directors.
“Great Dane’s executive team is passionate in recognizing and promoting the best talent into leadership roles,” said Fuller, “and the mission of Women In Trucking Association to support and encourage women in this industry aligns with our vision to be a diverse and inclusive organization. It’s truly a privilege to serve Women In Trucking on the board of directors, and I look forward to continuing my support and dedication to an organization that offers so much to empowered professional women of this industry.”
“Without the support of the industry, including the manufacturing community, Women In Trucking could not continue our momentum in creating positive change for all women who work within the trucking environment,” said Ellen Voie, WIT’s President and CEO. “Not only to we represent women who drive the trucks and own the trucks, we welcome the women who design the equipment, sell the equipment and maintain it as well,” Voie added.
Women In Trucking has experienced considerable growth in its short existence. The mission of the nonprofit organization is to encourage women to consider careers in the trucking industry, address obstacles that might keep women from succeeding and to celebrate the success of its members. Recent accomplishments include the initiation of design changes in truck cabs, the fifth annual “Salute to Women Behind the Wheel,” and the “Influential Woman in Trucking,” award.
Future goals include a Women In Transportation conference in 2015, a Distinguished Woman in Logistics award, a Safety Professional of the Year and more invitations for ride-alongs with legislators and regulators.
