Interroll acquires its sales and service agent in Iceland
Material handling specialist Interroll has acquired significant parts of the business activities and assets of IBH ehf. in Reykjavik, Iceland. The move strengthens the company’s sales and service activities in the food and beverage sector, particularly in the fish processing industry.
IBH ehf. previously acted as the Interroll Group’s sales agent for Iceland and the Faroe Islands. The focus of business and service activities to date has been primarily on the Interroll Drives product group. With its own branch office, Interroll will in future also be selling its entire solution portfolio in Iceland. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
The transferring managing director and five employees generate an annual product and service turnover in the low single-digit million-euro range. The services provided by IBH ehf. are in demand above all by the food industry, especially by companies and machine manufacturers in the fish processing sector.
In the long term, the Interroll Group aims to achieve a worldwide spare parts and service share of at least 20 percent of its total revenue.
In addition to hygienic products such as drum motors with the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) and US Department of Agriculture (USDA) certification, Interroll offers the food industry its Modular Conveyor Platform (MCP), cross belt sorters and order picking and storage solutions that are efficient, low-maintenance and reliable.
The acquired business activities and assets for Iceland and the Faroe Islands will continue as the Reykjavik branch of Interroll Nordic in Copenhagen, Denmark.
