Brady expands GHS label creation capabilities
Brady, provider of product and facility identification solutions, announced its inclusion of three additional label printers in its partnership with VelocityEHS and its industry-leading MSDSonline chemical management solution. Brady and VelocityEHS joined forces to provide EHS professionals with an easier GHS labeling solution. Adding Brady’s BBP®30, BBP®35 and BBP®37 printers to the combined offering expands GHS label creation capabilities for customers to better align with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS).
“With the final compliance deadline for GHS passed, we’re continuing to strengthen our offering to make GHS label creation an easy and efficient process,” says Lori Aeschbacher, global product manager for benchtop printers at Brady. “By adding three new label printers, users have expanded options to create GHS labels in a variety of sizes. This enables them to reach and maintain HazCom compliance.”
Under GHS, chemical labeling is standardized for consistent communication of chemical hazard information. The label format includes six key elements that can be found on the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) that chemical manufacturers provide with the hazardous chemicals they distribute. Users of the MSDSonline system can take information on these SDSs and easily create labels that are formatted with the GHS label elements.
These labels can now be printed directly to Brady’s BBP®30, BBP®35 and BBP®37 printers, in addition to the previous BBP®33 and BBP®31 printers, in 2×3-inch, 3×4-inch and 4×6-inch label sizes.
