Loftware releases new labeling solution
Loftware, Inc., the global leader in Enterprise Labeling Solutions, today announced significant enhancements to their revolutionary 100% browser based, all-in-one Enterprise Labeling Solution, releasing Loftware Spectrum® 2.5.2. Adding to unlimited label design capability, unmatched enterprise integration, intelligent on-demand printing and the innovative architecture, Spectrum 2.5.2 offers powerful new features including new cab and PCL 5c drivers for color printing. Also, enhanced live data in design; new label image output options, added language support for global deployments and Linux printer support.
Loftware extends its leadership in native color printing with the release of PCL 5c driver and cab printer drivers in Spectrum. These native printer drivers offer unsurpassed print performance, maximize network traffic and remove the need to install drivers locally. PCL 5c offers multi-color printing to a myriad of inkjet and office printers while the cab driver enables support for the cab XC series two-color thermal printers and the A+ series, The EOS series, and the Mach4 thermal printers.
Supporting cab printers allows customers in the chemical and related industries to address GHS regulations. This new capability enhances previously released Character Level Formatting capabilities to use additional colors to call attention to allergens and warnings on food and beverage labels.
“The need for color printing is becoming more pervasive as companies look to meet the challenges of the Global Harmonized System (GHS), reduce their dependence on pre-printed label stock, and adhere to evolving brand standards,” stated, Loftware Director of Product Management Scott Johnson.
In addition to expanded color print capability, Spectrum 2.5.2 extends label design flexibility with enhanced live data in design capabilities. This allows users to position fields and judge spatial relationships between objects on a label to see exactly what they’re printing, to offer time saving and reduce errors in the label design process. This release also introduces a new image device driver, which allows users to output label formats and save the image for validation or to email label images to speed the review and approval process. Spectrum 2.5.2 offers support for all Linux printers while further enhancing Spectrum’s support for global organizations by introducing localized language support for Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese.
“Spectrum provides unmatched integration and flexibility. Now with version 2.5.2 added design capabilities dramatically enhance the user experience while offering color print capabilities that are essential for helping our customers meet emerging regulatory and business requirements,” stated Mark Wick, Loftware VP of Software Development. “At Loftware we continue to innovate so that we can bring our customers the very best in Enterprise Labeling Solutions,” he added.
