Gorbel to Celebrate 25th Anniversary of revolutionary intelligent lifting device at ProMat 2025

Gorbel® is set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its groundbreaking G-Force® Intelligent Lifting Device. This device marked a significant advancement in ergonomic design upon its release in 2000.

The G-Force was designed by UC Berkeley’s Dr. Homayoon Kazerooni and allows manufacturing workers to lift materials with an ease that is often reserved for robotic technology. “My primary motivation was to reduce the risk of work-related injuries. I feel fortunate to have met the Gorbel team — visionary and forward-thinking individuals who played a key role in bringing this to life,” he said.

In the 25 years since Gorbel released the G-Force in the North American and European markets, it has been used to lift almost anything one can imagine from farming equipment to space rovers. Current models can lift more than 1,000 lbs with just a touch of a finger. Retired Gorbel Vice President of Sales David Butwid said of the technology, “If there’s anything grand about this [anniversary], it’s how the G-Force improved workplace safety.”

At ProMat, held at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL this March 17-20, Gorbel is hosting a special celebratory breakfast and will be offering live demos of the G-Force. Press affiliates are invited to Booth S2331 to speak with a Gorbel representative about this incredible milestone and learn about the company’s next innovations.
