Johnson Controls partners with Student Conservation Association and The Greening of Detroit for innovative green jobs program

Eighty Detroit public high school students are participating in the Conservation Leadership Corps (CLC) – a summer jobs program promoting environmental stewardship and leadership skills development while working in the local parks. Created and sponsored by Johnson Controls Inc, the Student Conservation Association and The Greening of Detroit, the program is in its third year here. New this year, the students will be participating in a professional development day, hosted by Johnson Controls' automotive interiors business in Plymouth, Mich. Johnson Controls employee volunteers will provide CLC students with a professional development learning experience, which includes career-focused information from each of the company's core businesses – Automotive Experience, Building Efficiency and Power Solutions. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of sustainability, energy efficiency and renewable resources in the fields of automotive interior design and engineering, building efficiency and hybrid battery technology.
